I'm building a second Spring Run and decided to get crazy with the design. Like Nick says, just make sure you get wood around all the forms...
I came up with a design that I think is unique as I've not seen it on any other boats. The idea is to create the illusion of a torpedo speeding through the water. I'm using medium color cedar at the bow followed by white ponderosa pine followed by dark red cedar with each section separated by a 3/16 strip of mahogany. The stems and coaming will be mahogany. The design will go on both the hull and on the deck.
I'm almost done stripping the hull and wanted to share it. I am looking forward to finishing the hull so I can sand it and see how it looks.....
One of the things I like about this hobby is the artistic freedom. I'm having fun with this one.....
