I design, build and sell small boats and boat kits and plans. I specialize mostly in easy and cheap to build non-traditional skin-on-frame, including kayaks and canoes, rowboats and sailboats.

I also teach boat building and sailing at the WoodenBoat School, and at various venues around the country.
But, mostly, I'm an avid paddler, rower and sailor. I live on the Chesapeake Bay, in the Northern Neck of Virginia.
