Got into kayak building about 12 years ago, for 'fun and stress relief' - starting with a S & G kit from CLC, moving to strip built after that. I used to live on the Missouri River, my primary paddling destination - but live in Nebraska/flat land now. There are some small lakes, not quite the same! Luckily, I enjoy building more than paddling - and have been making boats for kids/inlaws and now, grandkids. I love the build, and esp the forgiving nature of building. The community here is wonderful.
