Paddling and building boats and Greenland paddles here in the "Far East of the Western World", a.k.a., St. John's, Newfoundland.

I built my first skin on frame kayak at the age of 13 (1979). The second at age 16. Then promptly put kayaking on the back burner until the age of 43 (2009). I've got a lot of lost time to make up!!!

In 2011 I built Duane Strosaker's Point Bennett (S&G) followed by Dave Gentry's Disko Bay (SOF). In 2012 I completed Bjorn Thomasson's Black Pearl (strip) and then embarked on a deck chop of the Point Bennett.
