I have been following this thread and, as yet, not completely understanding the problem. I am building the Guillemot L so - my experience. The 'break off sections of forms are to allow cutting the cockpit out without them being in the way. I could not see why it really made any difference where this 'break-off' line was located as long as it was below cockpit cut-out level. I cut the tops off of forms 8-9-10-11, cut a strip of wood equal to my saw blade thickness and hot glued this spacer and the form tops back in place. I stripped, stapled and glued the deck. Removed the staples and tapped the break off sections out of the boat and cut the cockpit opening.
