I have been following this thread waiting for someone to say this, thanks Bill:) I too butt all joints. Once the glass is applied the wood is just along for the ride - it's only function is cosmetic. Joint strength is of no consequence. I taught airplane building for many years and it never ceased to amaze me how difficult builders insist on making simple tasks. But in the end it is their feeling of accomplishment that is important, their time, their money, their plane - boat :))
