I'm almost finished the frame on my Disko Bay (as per Dave Gentry's instructions. Tonight I did the plastic wrap test and am finding that the freeboard near my hips is between 1 and 1.5" I know that the cockpit coaming will increase this but I'm curious what others may think of this. I built this boat mostly for rolling and to see what it's like to paddle a SOF. Of course, that's not to say it won't be out in rougher conditions.
Here's a link to my blog entry on the maiden voyage: http://justyakkin2.blogspot.com/2011/08/different-kind-of-plastic-boat.html
I also have a short Youtube video that may help as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BxxfBi6U7Q
Hope these links work. Thanks for any and all comments,
Sean
