A good friend of mine has the Outer Island for the same reason. He figures that he spends more time going straight (touring) so why not have a boat that does just that? A good point!!

I'm building the Black Pearl (skegless, I must add) for the very opposite reason, i.e., so that I can do some playing!!

I still enjoy paddling the Disko Bay - there's something so different about the feel of a SOF!!
