: glue between the strips now has time to cure. After the wood
: glue cures you simply take a scrapper and scrape the hot glue
: off the surface. I can strip a boat this way as fast as

I've been using hot melt glue a lot on my current build - a very useful invention. In this case you could even tack small scraps of strips across the joins for a stronger hold. I find that all you need to do is slide a chisel under the edge and give it a slight tap and the glue lets go.
