: Just a heads up- I wasn't careful on my first strip build and ended
: up with less than 3/4" rise in some places on my first
: cockpit. I found that the brand (can't remember name) of spray
: deck, I designed the cockpit for, had a large rubber rand (part
: that grips the cockpit) that would not fit under the cockpit rim
: in these areas with smaller rise heights. Made for a lousy- read
: wet- fit that allowed water in while paddling. Vowed always to
: use a solid spacer throughout the circumference of all my
: cockpit builds. So if you want to build smaller than a 3/4"
: riser height I suggest you have a model of spray deck with
: smaller rand to fit this shortened height.

I'll be using the Seals Shocker which has, what I would consider, a medium sized rand. I've got two boats with a 3/4" rise that gives plenty of room underneath. Just curious if anyone has gone lower.
