Hi Sean: I'm getting to the end of my kayak building project and trying to make sure that I am going about the remainder of the skeg installation in the right order. I made wood guides for the PA tube similar to yours and am running the cable along the upper part of the hull. I have the cut-out for the skeg control box on the deck and the housing fits fine (haven't glued it in yet). The Kajak Sport skeg instruction manual gets a little vague re the sequential steps in actually connecting everything. Here's what I thing I should do: 1. attach the PA tube to the hull and leave it long. 2. attach the hull to the deck before doing any more on the skeg assembly. 3. glue the control box in place. 4. cut the PA tube to length and glue to the control box. 5. bike lube the cable and run it up through the PA tube. 6. from that point on I'm just going to follow the skeg control unit assembly in the manual. However the control knob is centered in the control box in the illustration. It seems at this point, that the blade should be set at the 40 degree angle and the control knob moved to the back (toward stern) of the control box and then the control knob gets tightened. This may seem pretty straight forward, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks, Jack
