Material: Kayak seat

Hi: Just out of curiosity, has anyone built a kayak seat using XPS water resistant foam (used for household insulation), shaping it similar to minicell foam, and covering it with fiberglass?
Seems like it should work, just don't know how it would hold up, i.e. would the foam break down with use. If the seat is glassed, I would think the foam would hold up.
Thanks,

Jack
