Regardless of what's going on with your fabric, it is easy to tighten it back up with your heat gun - even when it is coated. Be aware that it doesn't take quite as long for the fabric to shrink with a coating on it, so be extra careful. If you see bubbles in the coating, move your heat source away immediately. You need good ventilation, too.
