About 6 weeks or so ago someone answered my question on how to stain without staining the contrasting trim wood. Their suggestion was to tape off the trim and coat with clear epoxy then tape off the epoxied trim and stain the remaining wood. Well, it works excellent except for one thing. I cannot seal the tape edges good enough to prevent bleed through. I even used a dime to press down the tape edges several times. It isn't a big problem but I thought if I used a different tape it might help. I used auto painters tape as it was the only tape I could find in the 1/8"-1/4" width range that allowed reasonable curves. The problem is it is not real sticky which is not surprising as it is made for removing from metal without disturbing the recently sprayed paint.
If you are not tired of reading by now I do have a question - Is there a stickier tape that would seal better on wood and still allow reasonable curves down to around 1-1/2" radius or so ??
Thank you,
Randy
