Hi Kent, I sewed my velcro onto a piece of hvy. vinyl type fabric and cut the piece to the seat shape and glued it to the minicel seat with contact cement, the stuff in the red can. It has stayed on the seat for three years now and I remove the seat after every paddle. The velcro strips on the boat bottom are replaced yearly. When you apply contact cement, brush it on and squeegee it to a thin film with and old credit card or the like. Apply 2 coats allowing firt to dry. If you leave a thick layer, it wont stick.
