Strip: Commercial boats similar to strip built boats

I have looked over the performance curves of the various Guillemot kayaks. The Night Huron and Petrel appear to be similar to each other. I am also trying to compare the Nick Schade kayaks to commercial versions. From what I can surmise, the Night Huron and the Petrel have similar stability characteristics to the P&H Scorpio that I tested last year and liked. I am surprised that there are not more comparisons made between the strip built kayak kits and the commercial sea kayaks. It would be so much easier to choose a plan if you had tried a boat with a similar characteristic. You can easily find a commercial kayak that is being demo’d by a kayak shop, but it is much harder to find a local example of a strip built kayak you are looking to build.
